I removed the bottom guard and secured the handle with a bolt and nut combo and haven't had an issue since. everything feels, looks, and is solid..the picture does not give the blade itself justice, all over the sword there are little dents and nicks to give it a rugged look along with the wicked curve of the blade. Not sharp at all but it doesn't need to be, I would consider it more of a bludgeoning/piercing weapon than a slashing weapon because of the weight and it comes to a nice point. Tremendous value--You have a returning customer. It is a heavy, well built and designed blade and worth far more than the $29.00 price. lol. I am more of a collector then a user. The blade is sharp enough to slice through small trees and like an axe, if sharpened too much will chip easily. Only down side is handle is cheap and the wrap is loose and moves but for 30 bucks you cant beat it.
